Mission Statement
The mission of the NCPC is to provide research-based, cybersecurity-related training, exercises and technical assistance to local jurisdictions, counties, states and the private sector.
Experience
As early as 2004, in partnership with DHS/FEMA, the individual members of the NCPC have developed and delivered DHS/FEMA certified online and face-to-face training courses to an array of states, counties, local jurisdictions, and critical infrastructure components nationwide addressing cybersecurity and cyber terrorism concerns.
As of September 2023, members of the Consortium have trained more than 128,664 participants.
The Consortium
The NCPC consists of five university partners across the country. These organizations are:
The Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security (CIAS) at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA)
Created in 2001 at UTSA, which is an NSA/DHS designated Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education and Research (CAE and CAE-R).
The CIAS is heavily involved in cybersecurity training and exercises and has conducted cybersecurity exercises at the community, state and sector levels in 15 states across the nation.
The Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) National Emergency Response and Recovery Training Center (NERRTC)
Member of the Texas A&M University System; a founding member of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC).
Major training partner of the DHS/FEMA National Preparedness Directorate.
The more than 50 training courses that TEEX/NERRTC delivers are developed and led by some of the top homeland security experts in the country, many of whom responded to or managed some of the most significant incidents on record.
The University of Memphis Center for Information Assurance (CfIA)
Dedicated to providing world-class research, training, and career development for Information Assurance professionals and students alike by organizing community events, special purpose conferences and vendor specific training programs.
The Center for Information Assurance also spearheads the efforts of The University of Memphis as a Center of Excellence in Information Assurance Education.
Norwich University (NU)
Established in 2002.
Serves the national public interest through the study of critical national issues and the development of related educational and training programs.
Conducts rapid research, develops and deploys needed technologies, addresses related policy and technology issues to enhance a national capability for preparedness and response.
The University of Arkansas Criminal Justice Institute (CJI)
Through funding from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), National Training and Education Division (NTED), CJI staff have developed and delivered two (2) courses provided at no cost to technical personnel working in both the public and private sectors within our Nations critical infrastructure.
